JOHN CROME (BRITISH, 1793-1842), OIL ON CANVAS, H 11", W 13.5", COASTLINE:Landscape in background. Sailing vessel in foreground. Given as a wedding present in October 1948 to Mary Ellen and Charles Booth. Original carved wood frame with gilt 19" x 22". Unsigned.
Under UV light: small spot of overpainting in boat on right; needs cleaning; stable craquelure.; slight damage to frame.
