JOHN FORREST, LONDON, STERLING SILVER KEY WIND HALF-HUNTER POCKET WATCH, LATE 19TH C.:A sterling silver and rose gold key wind half hunter pocket watch. Watch and associated parts made by John Forrest of London, sterling silver and rose gold case made by Charles Harris, London, c. 1870-1889. Having a gilt 3/4 English lever movement, a white dial with black Roman numerals, black outer minute track, gilt double spade hands, subsidiary dial at 6 for constant sections, dial and movement signed. The engine turned consular case made by Charles Harris, London, with central cartouche, ornately decorated case, and reeded band. The case with two separate date marks - the crown stamped with 1870 "P" date mark, the covers stamped with 1889 "O" mark. Dia. 2 1/4". Key accompanies watch.

Condition

The watch has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible to the naked eye. The glass dial cover has been replaced with plastic. The dial has isolated areas of hairline cracking.
