Condition
Relined canvas. The painting Height is 30" and the width is 25". The frame height is 38" and the frame width is 33". (Additional condition info under UV light in the unopened frame: turns partially green so a complete UV analysis is not possible, nonetheless, it appears that there is some overpainting in the background (including along the top edge), some overpainting in his right hand and forearm going into his coat and some overpainting just above his head; overall fine craquelure is stable; canvas is lined; replaced stretchers; antique gilt molded gesso over wood frame having chips, losses, cracks, restoration and some loss of patina.
