JOSE CHAVEZ MORADO (MEXICAN, 1909-2002), OIL ON MASONITE, 1946, H 22", W 16", "UN ARREGLO FLORAL":Signed and dated lower right; original frame. Purchased from the artist. 1981 photo certificate of authenticity from the artist (in consignor file) is included with the sale of the painting. Additional provenance: ex. Estate of William Noble, Ferndale, MI (who purchased it from the artist), then passed down in the family. Mr. Noble was the lead feature writer for the Detroit News Sunday magazine and an avid collector of Mexican art since the 1930's.
Condition
UV clean; 2 small paint chips in the LL background; original frame with stained liner.
