"Study, Katherine McEwen" is written on the verso. Katherine McEwen immigrated to the United States from England at the age of 20. She initially studied at the Detroit Art Academy and eventually became a charter member of the Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors. She also studied mural painting under William Chase, painting murals in the Cranbrook Church in Bloomfield Hills, MI as well as in Los Angeles. Frame size: H 31", W 27".
