The wine red field with an Isphahan-inspired design of scrolling leaves and palmettes, within a midnight blue palmette and leaf border. Provenance: Originally purchased from the Kerman area of Iran around the turn of the 19th century by the grandfather of Leicester Costikyan Cronin, Kent-Costikyan, Inc. In 1979, the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House purchased the rug from Kent-Costikyan, Inc. for $33,000.00. It was to be used as a replacement for the original main hall rug. The rug was on exhibit in the main hall from 1979 to 2015.
