LAVAR PERSIAN RUG, LATE 19TH C., 11' 6" X 11' 3":Large center medallion, overall floral medallion pattern.

Condition

Along one salvage edge there is a 1" area where the threads are starting to fray. Along this same edge there is a 3" long by 1/2" wide area that has been repaired. This repair is noticeable upon close inspection. There is an approximate 4" area of differentiation in color on both of the selvage edges. This discoloration is in the same area so that tells me there was a slight change in the dye lot , of the yarn in this area. On the edge of one fringe side, of the rug, the red edge border seem a little thinner than the red edge on the other side of the rug. There is a professional repair approximately 2 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide. This repair is in the area past the last interior border. This repair is NOT noticeable from the front of the rug, you can only see it when you are inspecting the back of the rug. The pile of the rug is in good condition, I did not see any worn areas of pile.
