LUDWIG PORCELAIN COFFEE POT AND COVER, 18TH C., H 8 1/4":The pear-shaped body fine painted on each side with scenes of figures engaged in various pursuits, within elaborate gilt scrollwork cartouches with surrounding red and purple scrollwork, with added polychrome floral accents to body, the domed cover painted with a continuous landscape scene with figures. Marks to interior of cover and foot of coffee pot. Provenance: Sotheby's New York, English Furniture and Decorative Arts, European Ceramics and Carpets, March 19, 1991, lot 0040. Overall in good condition with minor wear to gilding, particularly to the rim and tip of spout. One noticeable area of loss to gilt on cover rim.
