In two parts. Claw and ball cabriole legs. Carved shell and pinwheel carving on lower drawer. Upper carcass with reeded quarter columns. Pediment with pinwheel carvings and flame finials. Three upper drawers over four graduated lower drawers. upper center drawer with shell carving, lower drawer also with inset sell carving.
Provenance: Purchased at DuMouchelles December 1994. From the collection of a Carlisle, MA private collector 1994 to present. Very stately and handsome chest on chest. Beautifully matched mahogany "flame" facade.
2-piece highboy standing on ball and claw cabriole legs with two drops from the lower rail. The bottom central drawer has a carved shell with a central pinwheel decoration. The front corner has reeded quarter columns. The top has a curved pediment terminating in pinwheel carvings with a central finial. There are two finials and plinths at each top front corner. The front corners are also reeded quarter columns. There are three top drawers above four nice graduated drawers. The top center drawer has a shell carving with a central finial. All drawer fronts are veneer with crotch mahogany vertically.
