Signed in the plate lower left and signed in pencil lower right. A superb, luminous, richly-inked impression of this scarce print, with all the details distinct. Edition of approximately 51. Provenance: Kennedy Co. -785 - 5th. Ave. NYC. (paper label affixed verso). Literature: McCarron 104. According to McCarron, "The locale depicted is the highway between Newtown and Sandy Hook, Connecticut (Lewis and his family had moved from New York to Connecticut, on the advice of friend and fellow artist Armin Landeck, during the Depression years)."
