Mary Chase Perry (Michigan, 1867-1961) For Pewabic Pottery 'M1' Iridescent Glazed Vessel, 1925, H 6.75'' Dia. 6.5'' | Having a rounded lip on tapering bodice. Boasting a palette of sage, lavender, and cobalt rendered in an iridescent drip glaze. Stamped "PEWABIC DETROIT" (1910-1967) with "PEWABIC POTTERY" paper label (1908-1967) and "M1" paper label (this label created by Charles Lang Freer was placed on pieces by Mary Chase Perry to identify museum quality) affixed to underside. Provenance: Property of a Prominent Metro Detroit Collector of Pewabic Pottery.
