MINTONS PATE-SUR-PATE PORCELAIN DESSERT PLATE BY LOUIS SOLON, 1886, DIA 9":A cabinet or dessert plate with an openwork rim of waves shaded in pastel pink rolling over shell-forms with each wave accentuated by gilt beads and scalloped edges; white slip decoration of a bacchante encouraging a putto as it learns to fly, enclosed by gilt enamels. Decorated by Marc-Louis-Emmanuel Solon, signed. Impressed MINTONS, year cypher for 1886, gilt globe stamp enclosed by ribbons 'Manufactured for Phillips Mount St. London.W', and numbered N.P990 (see additional photo).
