Signed and dated in the lower right. Norman Chamberlain, a Michigan-born artist that studied under Mathias Alten. In 1910 he spent two years in the Hague studying Dutch painters. He later moved to California where he had a successful career that included painting murals for Riverside High School, the First Nat'l Bank in Pasadena and the Huntington Park Post Office.
