Scalloped ribbed Tuscano style frosted shade having reverse painted garland of yellow, pink, and red roses. Four quadrants having rose wreath accented by leafy sprays. Base having four arms to support the shade and offers a painted blown glass shaft having hand painted decoration of roses on white ground. Two light sockets with pull chains. Shade stamp signed "The Pairpoint Co..." on lower outside edge and base has impressed Pairpoint mark on underside. A similar example of this rare base is on p. 39 of Pairpoint Lamps by Edward and Sheila Malakoff.
The brass base shows oxidation with resulting verdigris. Glass painted shaft is free from cracks or losses. The glass shade is free from cracks and has one 1/2" X 1/2" chip on inside edge. Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
