Signed in the lower left and pencil notation on verso "C. Amiral Miot". Bearing a L. Berville, Paris paper label on verso. Tunisian landscape with figures under Cyprus trees in a mountainous river landscape with a city in the distance. Primarily known for his photographs, Vice Admiral Miot became curator of the Musee de la Marine at the Louvre in 1893 untill his death. Having a giltwood and gesso frame, H 12.75", W 18.75". Provenance: Property from a Mason, OH private collector.


In original, untouched condition.
