Condition

Two professionally repaired splits to the grain of the sock at the foregrip. Minor split below hammer/nipple. Minor pitting to the barrel and lock. Bore shows use but is generally in good condition. Set triggers function. Main spring is strong. The self-priming function of the Butterfield lock in not functioning and the hammer looks to be slightly later replacement. In theory, as the hammer drops, a small arm would feed a wafer primer above the nipple. No arm appears on this firearm. These primers were fed via a small magazine tube that screws in at the bottom of the lock. It appears the magazine tube has broken off from the screw portion and is stuck inside. When unscrewed, there is a small spring and pin inside the opening. | Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
