Pewabic Pottery (American, 1903) Lamp Base With Ivory/Brown Glaze C. 1900-1903, H 17'' Dia. 11'' Described by Mary Chase Perry as lamp with ivory brown glaze. According to Pewabic Pottery records this base originally had a leaded glass shade (designed by Bemis, Detroit) and was illustrated in the Pewabic Pottery Archives with two other leaded shades. Provenance: Mary Chase Perry; Horace Caulkins; Property of a Prominent Metro Detroit Collector of Pewabic Pottery. Literature: Pear, Lillian-Myers, The Pewabic Pottery, page 33 (illustrated in Fig. 35).

Condition

When viewed under UV light, no conservation efforts or inpainting was observed. Hairline fractures to the glaze on the base and underside. Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
