Factory conversion to .44 cal. centerfire cartridges. Octagonal barrel marked 'Patented Sept. 14 1858 E. Remington & Sons Ilion New York U.S.A.". Serial number of 17314 is marked on the frame under the grips and on the underside of the barrel. Mark of '79' on the frame under the grips, on the underside of the barrel and at the trigger guard. Various inspection marks to the elements. Brass trigger guard, bead front sight and notched rear sight. Includes one non-functional round. Provenance: Property of a Grand Rapids, MI private collector.
