RURAL OIL ON CANVAS, C. LATE 19TH C. TO EARLY 20TH C., H 13", W 17", FARM SCENE WITH A MOUNTAIN BACKDROP:Unsigned; canvas 13 1/2" x 16 3/4"; gilt period frame size 26" x 23".
Under glass with a spacer. As viewed under UV light out of the frame: a c. 2 3/8" long line of incomplete restoration in the trees in the UR where the paint has flaked off, also a dab of incomplete restoration in the left center where again the paint had flaked off; extensive and unstable cracking/craquelure with additional flaking of the paint; not lined or patched; frame with large chip.
