Spencer model 1865 lever-action, 6 groove, repeating rifle. Marked on the barrel M1865 with an 'MM' proof mark. Receiver marked 'Spencer Repeating Rifle Co. Boston Mass. Pat'd March 6 1860', serial number 11041 marked next to the hammer. Stock stamped 'EAW' and 'DAP'. Having a side saddle ring, adjustable ladder rear sight, wedge front sight and spring-loaded magazine tube in the stock. Provenance: Property of a Grand Rapids, MI private collector.
