Having a rosewood case with an inlaid floral marquetry hinged lid. On the inside of the lid is a lithograph play card listing eight airs and marked at the bottom for the 1876 Philadelphia Exposition. Original hinged glass cover opens to the 13" cylinder and 96 combs of the music box. Crank wind lever on the left side with two toggle swtiches on the right "To Change, To Repeat" and "To Stop, To Start". Provenance: Wedding gift for the 1888 marriage of Clarence and Minerva Allen of Swanton, VT. by family descent to their great-grandchildren, Kalamazoo, MI.
