The subject is my husband, Michael, reading in front of our house. I rarely paint men, but loved the dramatic contrast of the shadows of his figure and the house, and the wrought iron chair partially in the sunlight. Since the time it was painted, my summer work has gained in popularity, but this is a real gem in my opinion and a personal favorite." Provenance: Property from a Bloomfield Township, MI private collection.
