White clay body. Persian blue glaze over "flowing matte" ivory and brown glaze with reduction. Hand thrown with incised bands and scribes whose visual appearance is similar to sheaves of wheat. Underside having incised initials "WBS" under the glaze. Early "Pewabic Detroit" 7/8" diameter label with pencil inscription "Not for Sale". Also having partial impressed "Pewabic" impressed stamp and "141" inventory number in white paint. Provenance: Property of a prominent metro Detroit collector of Pewabic Pottery.
