A bronze after Louis Robert Carriere-Belleuse's "Melodie" by Adrien Etienne Gaudez (French, 1845-1902). Depicting a semi-nude female with a lyre. Artist's signature 'A. Gaudez' to the base with 'A. CARRIER BELLEUSE - HORS CONCOURS' (highest recognition, unrivaled or unequaled) to the base side. Presented on a green marble pedestal with canted corners, measuring H 40" x W 14" overall. Having a two toned patina with the figure in Renaissance Brown while her robes have a brownish red patina.
