A NORWEGIAN BURR BIRCH PEG TANKARD, 18TH C., H 7 1/2", DIA 5 3/8":The domed cover centered by a carved crowned lion holding a spear with a recumbent lion thumbpiece and a carved kick to the C-shaped handle, raised on three carved recumbent lion supports, the underside centered by a carved flower head. The interior with a sicker for the Danish Arts & Antiques Union, reading "Dansk Antikvitetshandler Union / Medlem AF".
With small nicks to edges in isolated instances, and the hinge is slightly loose. Showing wear and marks throughout consistent with age.
