A pair of Alexander Wilson percussion cap pistols. Contained in their original fitted storage case that bears the Alexander Wilson, London, paper label. Case size: H 2 1/2", W 16 5/8", D 8 3/4". Case contains a bullet mold marked "No. 19 G.M.", an Eley Bros percussion cap container (no caps) and two maintenance tools. The two pistols have Damascus smooth-bore barrels marked "Wilson London" at the tops. The locks are engraved with scrolling floral designs and are marked "Wilson". Hammers are engraved in a dolphin-form. Swivel ramrods and engraved trigger guards. Walnut stocks with checkered grips. Notch rear sights with bead front sights. Provenance: Purchased in the 19th century by a member of the Gape family of New England. Passed down through multiple generations to the current family member.

Condition

Original finish, a few scuffs and gouges to the stocks. Some pitting and surface rusting to the barrels and locks. Old chip and loss to the end of the stock of one pistol. Actions function on both pistols.
