American Empire Carved Mahogany Barrister Bookcase, C. 1830, H 60'' W 58.25'' Depth 17.5'' | Having two hinged fenestrated glass doors. Original glass. Six adjustable wood shelves. Turned wood columns flanking the doors. Sitting atop two wonderfully carved paw and claw legs in the front with turned legs in the back. Includes locking key. No apparent makers mark. Provenance: Private Collection, Boston-Edison District, Detroit, MI (40-year resident of the Boston-Edison Ford House)

Missing the right claw of the right paw. Chip to the back left corner of the top. Surface scuffing at the center of both columns. Key not included.
