Having a nickel-plated finish, 40" barrel, percussion cap action, and full-length walnut stock, 3 barrel bands and shoulder strap rings on the trigger guard and middle barrel band. Marked 'VP' and an eagle on barrel below the rear sight. Stamped 'U.S.' on the butt plate and '1862' on the side plate. Faint cartouches appear on the stock above the trigger. Lock marked 'U.S. Colt's Pt. Fa Mfg. Co. Hartford Ct. Possible New Jersey Marks. Antique firearm no paperwork required.
