Wire-wrapped leather grip with a gilt horse-head pommel and acanthus leaf decorated guard. Pipe-backed blade with floral designs, no visible maker's mark. Blade length 29 1/2". Includes metal scabbard that is engraved "W. Linsingen S/I U. Estorf 27 Mz 1816". Believed to be William Von Linsingen, Lieutenant Colonel of the King's German Legion in the battle of Waterloo.
