EUROPEAN PASTEL, 19TH C., H 15", W 23", ROCKY COASTLINE:Rocky coastline with two sailboats in the distance, 15 1/2" x 23 1/2"; unsigned; period frame; probably after c. 1850;
As viewed under room light in the unopened frame: under glass and the pastel is very noticeably coming off on the glass; wide vertical 'burn' mark going up the center of the pastel; possible foxing; frame chipped.
