FERNANDO LEAL (MEXICAN, 1896-1964), OIL ON CANVAS, 1957, H 11 1/4", W 9 1/2", "TURISTA" ("TOURIST"):Signed lower right; non-original frame. Provenance: purchased from Arte De Coleccionistas-Galeria, Mexico, May 8, 1962 and was #18 in their September 1960 exhibition of the artist's work Bill of sale, photo ID for the work and their exhibition brochure/catalogue all in consignor file and are included with the sale of the painting. Additional provenance: ex. Estate of William Noble, Ferndale, MI (who purchased it from the artist), then passed down in the family. Mr. Noble was the lead feature writer for the Detroit News Sunday magazine and an avid collector of Mexican art since the 1930's.
UV clean; good condition.
