EUROPEAN OLD MASTER OIL ON CANVAS, LATE 18TH TO EARLY 19TH C., H 30", W 25", PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG LADY:Oval format but in a modern rectangular frame; the only markings are on the verso, "A___ Sudig 1710". Mongenas Antiques ID card attached to verso of frame. Family owned since its purchase c. 40 years ago.
Under UV light in the unopened frame: small amount of overpainting showing; stretcher bar cracking of the paint and overall cracking of the paint with instability; not lined or patched; modern frame.
