French Empire Style Mahogany And Ormolu Mounted Crib & Bedding, 19th C., H 75" W 28" L 56"

Having egg shaped oblong rocking cradle supported at each end by columnar standards. Cradle base conforms to the rocking cradle and is adorned with laurel wreath gild bronze corner crests. The whole supported on cabriole legs with finely cast gild bronze acanthus leaf mounts. Turned gilded bedding and drapery support having a cast gilt bronze terminal of an eagle holding a ring in its mouth. Also includes mattresses, bedding, Irish hand embroidered linens and matching draperies. One pair of Irish linen draperies measures 25" X 124". One pair measures 20" (10" with curtain rod hooks) X 124". Provenance: Collection of Linda Taubman, MI. Purchased 3/4/1987 Mallett at Bourdon House Ltd. London, England.

Condition

Very fine. All linens and draperies are in excellent condition they have been expertly cleaned prior to having been in climate controlled storage for the last 30 years. No damage or restoration. | Please note all lots show signs of wear commensurate with age and use, and the lack of a statement regarding condition does not imply the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from defects or the effects of aging.
