ITALIAN CARVED MARBLE FIGURE OF A STANDING WOMAN, H 33", W 13", D 11", "MERRY WORK":A carved marble figure of a woman with downcast eyes holding a sheaf of wheat under each arm. Titled to front at base. No other apparent markings. From the Estate of Palmer T. Heenan, Grosse Pointe Park. The circa is late 19th century to early 20th century.
Condition
With one repaired chip to a corner of the base, please refer to the photos for an image. Also the tip of the figures front shoe has broken off, approx. 1" x 1". The left front corner of her base has broken off approx. 2" x 1 1/2". We have the pieces. Otherwise with scratches, scuffs, and marks throughout consistent with age and use.
