Relief carved band depicting figures from antiquity dancing and playing. Undermarked with circular Pewabic Pottery impressed mark. This specific vase is documented in the iconic 1941 photograph (Some sources cite the photo as taken in 1930) of Mary Chase Perry Stratton taken on Pewabic Pottery Grounds with hollyhocks and garden pots. Exhibited: Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts 1913; Pewabic: A Century of Michigan's Art Pottery, Kresge Art Museum, 2005 (illustrated in the exhibition catalogue on p.1).
