MAUREEN WICKE (1916-1998) SILVER AND ENAMELED SURPRISE EGG H 2 1/2", DIA 1 3/4", "CRACK IN THE COSMOS":Ethel Maureen Wicke (Canadian-American, 1916-1998). "Crack in the Cosmos". Mid 20th century. In two pieces, of ovid form, with cracked and textured silver surface having small added enamel eyes, opening to reveal a stylized enameled and silver eye on stand, further opening to an opalescent sphere, resting on a blue enameled wave form vase. Probably sterling silver. No apparent markings. Weighing a total of 220.3 grams.
With light surface scratches to exterior throughout, and one small enameled eye appears to be missing
