MEISSEN PORCELAIN CHERUBIC FIGURES, LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH C., FOUR, H 5 3/4", 'THE FOUR SEASONS':Including allegorical figure of Spring holding a flower basket, marked with incised A 64 and impressed 93; Summer is decorated with grapes and grape leaves, marked with incised A 69, impressed 114, and painted 01185; Autumn is holding a scythe and wheat, marked with incised A67, impressed 36, and painted 20; together with Winter, wearing a cape, marked with incised 2740, impressed 723, and painted 42. All pieces are marked in blue underglaze with crossed swords. From the collection of Dr. Marion Scott and Ann Scott, Grosse Pointe Shores.

Condition

There are chips to both objects that Summer is holding and a break to the back portion of his leaf crown, minor chips noted to leaves of crown. There are 4 minor chips off the wheat tops and a small paint chip to the wheat stalk Autumn is holding. Spring and Winter appear to be in good condition.
