MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A MUSE, C. 1930, H 16", W 9", 'ERATO':The Muse of lyric and love poetry is depicted seated on an acanthus scroll base, partially draped, playing a lyre; marked in blue under glaze with crossed swords and impressed 369/7 and 122 (see additional photo). Measures H.16 1/4" x 9" x 7 1/2". From the collection of Dr. Marion Scott and Ann Scott, Grosse Pointe Shores.

Condition

The left forearm has been restored; lacking the left pinky finger.  One key wind is missing from the lyre  and there is possible restoration to the neck of the lyre.
