MINTONS PATE-SUR-PATE PORCELAIN CABINET PLATE BY LAWRENCE BIRKS, C.1892, DIA 9 1/2":An oval chocolate colored central reserve decorated with white slip of a putti frolicking amongst floral sprays and birds, with further beaded gilt strapwork about the pierced rim. Monogrammed at the low right, LB, for Lawrence Birks. Impressed with faint factory marks, including MINTONS, with illegible further factory markings, year cypher, gilt globe stamp, retailed by 'T.B. Starr New York' enclosed in a ribbon below, numbered in gold G6436. A repair noted to the top openwork, approximately W.1" x 1/2".
