MINTONS PATE-SUR-PATE PORCELAIN SOUP BOWLS BY ALBOIN BIRKS, 1912-1913, SET OF 18, DIA 8 3/8":A set of 18 soup bowls. Each bowl finely painted and hand-tooled in white slip with three portrait medallions on a blue ground, alternating with gilt foliate fronds. Decorated by Alboin Birks, signatures and monograms. Marked with gilt and pink globe stamp, retailed by Tiffany & Co., pattern numbered in gold H2551, year cyphers (seven indicating 1912, nine indicating 1913), impressed potters marks, and MINTONS.
Condition
Crazing noted to some portrait medallions and faint surface scratches on some bowls. Two bowls have crazing. A 5/8" area of restoration to the rim of one soup bowl. Condition is good otherwise. Ad/TW 9-7-17
