TAXCO STERLING SILVER AND CARVED AZURITE BOX, 20TH C., L 2":A Taxco sterling silver and carved azurite box. Mexican, 20th century. With azurite carved to form face, mounted onto a hinged sterling silver box. The stone framed by a gadrooned edge. With maker's mark and "925" stamped to interior. Length 2".
The hinged portion has broken off, so the top comes off when opening the box. However, the two pieces still fit together and close properly. Tarnishing, surface scratches, and marks throughout. Carved stone in good condition.
