SENATOR THOMAS H. BENTON HAND WRITTEN AND SIGNED LETTER TO JOHN LAW, DATED SEPTEMBER 18, 1839:'Free Franked' hand written and signed letter to John Law, receiver of the land office at Vincennes, Ind. In regards to a salt tax. Dated September 18, 1839. Thomas Benton was the aid de camp to General Andrew Jackson in the War of 1812 and infamous for shooting Jackson in a duel for which Jackson carried the embedded bullet for many years. Unframed.
