UTAGAWA KUNESATA (JAPANESE, 1786-1865), WOODBLOCK PRINTS, MID 19TH C., 2 PCS., H 14", L 9 1/8":A group of two woodblock prints depicting two actors from Act II of the play "Kanadenon Chushingura". The first depicting Sawamura Tossho II in the role of "Honzo's daughter, Konami", the second depicting Sawamura Tanosuke III as "Obshi Rikiya". Both bearing signatures and censors' seals. Each measuring 13 3/4" x 9 1/8".
Having light surface dirt, light handling creases, and light toning throughout.
