A German Kriegsmarine officers sword marked E&F Horsten Solingen on the ricasso with the firm's insignia on the reverse. Having a lion's head decorated pommel whose mane is incorporated with the brass wire-wrapped celluloid handle. The hinged clamshell handguard features a fouled anchor over laurel leaves. The reverse guard flips down to a die-hole lock, holding the blade in place. This side of the guard is stamped with the Kriegsmarine eagle over the letter "M" and numbered N1691, the matching number of the scabbard. The blade is undecorated but elegantly shaped. The double-stitched black leather scabbard is enhanced with gilt grass mounts.
