14KT YELLOW GOLD, RUBY & DIAMOND EVENING BAG WITH INSET WATCH, C. 1900, W 5 1/2":A 14kt yellow gold mesh bag with link handle and filigree frame centered by a circular watch, four rubies and four diamonds inset about the bezel, flanked by motif of wings with diamond melee; the pierced frame also inset with two diamonds and four rubies, and the clasp inset with two cabochon rubies. Hinges open to divided interior. Inscribed on inside frame: Inez de Costa Beme, Detroit, Michigan. Measures W.5 1/2" (6 7/8" widest) x 5 5/8" (10" to the handle). Weighs approximately 281 grams total.
Tests as 14kt gold. The mesh is pulling somewhat at both sides of hinge. The watch is not running.
