YORUBA CARVED WOOD MATERNITY FIGURE, NIGERIA, H 17", MOTHER & CHILD:A carved wood maternity figure of a seated woman holding an object in each hand, her face exhibits scarification, a baby at her back, with the faces of carved ancestors below her (see additional photo). Measures H.17" x 7" x 6". Nigeria, West Africa.
A crack at the right side of the mother's face, approximately 3 3/4" long, and another crack at the base at 2" long, both are evident in the photo; wear to the patina likely from handling.
