MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP, LATE 19TH C., H 7", W 5", A GARDENER AND COMPANION:Modeled as a man in a green waistcoat offering flowers to a young lady who has basket of vegetables at her feet; marked in blue underglaze with crossed swords, impressed 85, and incised 1584 (see additional photo). Measures H.7" x 5" x 4". From the collection of Dr. Marion Scott and Ann Scott, Grosse Pointe Shores.

Condition

The man's right hand has been repaired at the wrist, also the fingers; the handles for the garden tools are repaired, the branch just below the handles is damaged, and the large branch is repaired. The woman has been repaired at the neck.  There is a 1/4" chip at the back of the base.   The basket on the base has a 1/4" chip to the corner.  There are 2 chipped leaves in the flower basket.
