MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP, LATE 19TH C., H 6 1/2", W 6 1/2", 'THE GOOSE TRADE':Modeled as a goose vendor seated on an overturned bucket holding a goose, two others at his feet, a woman stands beside him offering a handful of coins, a handled urn on her arm contains a fish; marked in blue underglaze with crossed swords, impressed 101, and incised 720 (see additional photo). Measures H.6 3/8" x 6 1/2" x 4". From the collection of Dr. Marion Scott and Ann Scott, Grosse Pointe Shores.

Condition

There is a chip below the beak of the goose on the man's knee; there is a small chip to the hem of the woman's skirt at the back side; and the handle of the urn has been repaired. One leaf has broken off the base.
