TWO LITERATURE ANTHOLOGIES, EARLY 20TH C., 23 VOLUMES:A group of two literature anthologies, including: The Book of Literature, edited by Richard Garnett, Leon Vallee, and Alois Brandl, New York: The Grolier Society, 1922. With 14 books, two volumes to each, including: Vol. 3 & 4, 5 & 6, 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, 15 & 16, 17 & 18, 21 & 22, 23 & 24, 27 & 28, 29 & 30, 31 & 32, and Vol. 33 containing an index. Each volume in green leather with tooling to front cover and spine, and all edge gilt. With illustrations throughout. Journeys Through Bookland, Charles H. Sylvester, ed., Chicago: Bellow-Reeve Co., 1909. With 9 volumes, including: Vol I, II, III, IV, V, VII, VIII, X, and one titled "Guide to Journeys Through Bookland". Each bound in tan cloth with gilt tooling to cover and spine, including an Art-Nouveau foliate design. With illustrations throughout.

Condition

The Book of Literature: The leather is in need of conditioning, and red rot may have started on some of the spines. The gilt paint applied to the front cover has worn off on the volumes. The gilt edging has worn off slightly in some areas, but for the most part is still in good condition. Journeys Through Bookland: Most volumes have a small degree of rubbing to spines which has worn off the painted decoration. The corners of most volumes with a moderate degree of bumping to corners. In good used condition.
